Plumber- Hospital Facility

Location: Brownsville, TX

Vanguard Resources, Inc. – an industry-leading Facilities Management company, in business 26 years, is actively recruiting for an experienced, Full Time, hourly Maintenance Technician (PLUMBING) or (General Maintenance) for our Client’s facility: Valley Baptist Medical Center, 1040 W. Jefferson Street, Brownsville, TX 78520

PAY: The Maintenance Technician (PLUMBING) will earn $15 – $16 per hour, (to start), depending on skills & experience.

Important Note: Technician will need to be flexible and will need to work between shifts depending on client need and projects in progress.

Job Overview:

  • The expectation of the Maintenance Technician (PLUMBING) is to deliver exceptional plumbing services and maintenance on plumbing systems under the direction of the department lead/leaders to ensure all work is performed correctly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform a thorough and accurate Plumbing inspection including Health and Safety Checklist.
  • Perform all Plumbing repairs and replacements to applicable codes.
  • Facilitate order for all parts required for appointments and ensure preparedness for the day of service.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and in potentially hazardous situations. Take all precautions to ensure safety of yourself and of others in the environment.
  • Work in adherence to corporate safety requirements to ensure compliance to all safety expectations.
  • Immediately report safety violations or shortcomings to allow management to address and correct.
  • Work within regulatory expectations to ensure license requirements are met. Take no action or perform work that is in violation of licensing requirements of the company or company employees.
  • Good communicative skills with the ability to effectively work with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and communicate diagnostic findings, and propose (or sell) solutions to customers.
  • Ability to effectively use mobile computing devices to capture/record diagnostic results, create estimates and job specific proposals.
  • Ability to document job specific information, complete and close out work orders and receive and record customer payment when required.
  • Good practical skills.
  • An ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  • A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather.
  • A willingness to work in confined spaces.
  • Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain professional appearance, clean cut, well groomed.
  • Project and maintain a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Strive to educate and help customers, towards attaining 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental operational functionality of plumbing equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems with plumbing systems.

Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (including weekends).
  • Must be able to use a computer tablet, smart phone and read a map or follow GPS.
  • Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record.

Education:

  • High school Diploma, or GED preferred, not required and English skills required.

Experience:
Generally requires 2 years or more related experience.

Additional Skills:

  • Good communicative skills with the ability to effectively work with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Good practical skills.
  • An ability to work carefully, methodically and safely.
  • A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather.
  • A willingness to work in confined spaces.

Physical Fitness:

  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely work in confined areas
  • Ability to safely work kneeling, crouching and similar positions for extended periods
  • Ability to safely work in extreme temperatures
