Licensed HVAC Technician

Location: Taylor, TX

- Position: HVAC Technician – Class A License & Universal EPA Certification Required

- Location: HVAC Technician will be hired and employed by Vanguard Resources working for a premier Vanguard Resources Client, located just outside of Austin, TX (76574), supporting an industrial manufacturing facility/campus.

Vanguard Resources, Inc., an Industry-Leader in Facilities Management - in business for 28 years, (STILL family owned & operated), is actively recruiting for a Full-time, non-exempt, experienced, HVAC Technician, who holds a Class A license, in the State of Texas, with a universal EPA certification.

The following Position Summary is intended as an overview of the experienced HVAC Technician duties- not inclusive of all job-related responsibilities:

The HVAC Technician operates, monitors and maintains utilities, including HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), and is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facilities mechanical components and electrical equipment and systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Work may involve other skill areas such as plumbing, electrical, irrigation, and carpentry.

  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Expected hours: 40+ per week
  • Monday – Friday, business hours; required response outside of business hours, weekends, evenings and holidays for urgent matters
  • Work Location: Onsite
  • Technician MUST possess a clean driving record; this will be validated via MV search.

Examples of work performed by HVAC Technician

  • Responds to work orders
  • Performs skilled work in maintaining and repairing HVAC and mechanical equipment
  • Maintains filters and replaces drive belts
  • Troubleshoots refrigerant and electrical control circuits including direct digital controls
  • Installs new equipment; replaces motors, pumps, compressors, actuator, sensors, and digital control components
  • Performs brazing of copper fittings and refrigerant recovery
  • Performs General Maintenance Technician duties, as needed:
    • Installs and replaces electrical system components including light fixtures and ballasts
    • Clears stoppages, and water leaks
    • Performs general carpentry duties such as wall framing, drywall repairs, and painting
  • Operates a variety of motorized equipment and hand-held tools
  • Cross-trains with staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
  • May perform on call duty on a rotational basis
  • Attends all meetings and trainings, as required
  • Completes all required paperwork timely and accurately. Takes readings from nominal equipment and makes timely entry into appropriate logs.
  • Uses tools and equipment that are standard issue and do not need further calibration or adjustment. Keeps tools and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Observes and complies with all company safety policies. Uses required personal protective equipment while satisfying all work requests.
  • Works on and completes all facility team-based goals.
  • Performs special duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of HVAC experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Current universal EPA certification required
  • HVAC Class A license required
  • Pre-employment background check, drug screen and motor vehicle search required
